What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Senior Technical System Analyst to join RBC Capital Markets' Shared Services Analytics team. This role is central to designing, developing, and supporting business intelligence solutions that deliver critical reporting and analytics across the organization. You will lead technical initiatives including system upgrades, application migrations, and the development of data models and dashboards using industry-leading platforms. Working collaboratively with development teams, project managers, and business stakeholders, you will transform complex data requirements into scalable technical solutions that drive operational effectiveness and support strategic decision-making.

What will you do?

- Design and develop business intelligence solutions, including technical architecture, system specifications, and data models using tools such as Tableau and Power BI

- Leverage AI tools to migrate legacy data models and reports to strategic solutions

- Lead planning and implementation of application deployments, system upgrades, and migrations while ensuring alignment with technology standards and best practices

- Perform hands-on technical development and provide ongoing support for multiple reporting platforms and applications serving the Capital Markets business

- Collaborate with business system analysts, project managers, and IT infrastructure teams to deliver solutions that meet business requirements and project timelines

- Facilitate technical design meetings and present architecture recommendations to technology partners and senior management

- Implement and configure vendor software packages, ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and audit requirements

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

- 10+ years of business intelligence experience with demonstrated expertise in data modeling

- Advanced proficiency with SQL, T-SQL stored procedures, and Microsoft SQL Server databases

- Demonstrated project experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or .Net

- Strong understanding of system development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and IT standards

Nice-to-have:

- Experience with ETL tools such as DataStage or similar data integration platforms

- Experience designing, building, and deploying Oracle Analytics Server (OBIEE) in enterprise environments

- Familiarity with web programming technologies and frameworks including React, Angular, JSON, REST, JavaScript, HTML5, or CSS3

- Knowledge of deployment and version control tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, or Nexus

- Experience with system administration scripting languages like PowerShell or Python
