Job Description
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Technical Project Architect to provide technical leadership and oversight for complex architectural projects. This role is responsible for managing all phases of project delivery, ensuring the highest standards of design quality, technical excellence, documentation, and construction administration. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who excels at client service across healthcare, science & technology, and higher education projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all phases of architectural projects, applying advanced technical expertise across projects of varying size, complexity, and scope.
- Lead and supervise project teams, delegating work effectively while reviewing and approving the work of internal staff and external consultants.
- Conduct final reviews and approvals of code analyses, material selections, technical details, and project specifications.
- Oversee the production and coordination of construction documents and maintain quality control of BIM/Revit models.
- Attend client meetings and serve as a primary technical resource, regularly interfacing with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are executed according to established work plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Recommend adjustments to staffing, resources, and project approaches when corrective action is needed to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure project teams fully understand the scope of work and execute deliverables efficiently, accurately, and in a technically sound manner.
- Champion design excellence and encourage project teams and consultants to maintain a strong focus on design quality throughout project delivery.
- Develop and implement best practices that improve documentation quality, reduce project risk, and enhance technical standards across the firm.
- Mentor and support junior staff by sharing technical knowledge, establishing clear expectations, and fostering professional growth.
- Lead construction administration efforts, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting site observations, and resolving technical issues during construction.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture.
- Architectural registration required.
- 15+ years of experience in an architectural practice.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on healthcare, science & technology, and/or higher education projects.
- Demonstrated success leading design, documentation, and construction administration efforts for complex architectural projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM management.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, codes, and specifications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop project teams.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and technical expertise in complex situations.
