Title:

Senior Technical Professional (LNG Project)

KBR is looking for a Senior Technical Professional to support a major LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project through engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup. This role serves as a key technical authority within the project organization, providing leadership, guidance, and problem-solving expertise across multiple disciplines to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in large-scale LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, or energy infrastructure projects and have a proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges while supporting construction execution and operational readiness.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a senior technical resource for the project, supporting engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex multidisciplinary issues affecting project execution.

  • Review and evaluate engineering deliverables, construction work packages, technical procedures, and commissioning plans.

  • Support field engineering and construction teams in resolving technical issues and identifying practical solutions.

  • Coordinate with engineering contractors, vendors, construction management, quality, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.

  • Lead technical reviews, constructability assessments, risk evaluations, and value-improvement initiatives.

  • Assist in the management of Requests for Information (RFIs), technical clarifications, engineering changes, and field modifications.

  • Participate in design reviews and ensure technical compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support development of project execution strategies, system turnover plans, and startup readiness activities.

  • Evaluate lessons learned and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the project.

  • Mentor junior engineers, field engineers, and technical personnel.

  • Support project leadership by providing technical recommendations, risk assessments, and decision-making input.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure technical activities align with project HSE objectives.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline OR equivalent construction experience.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering, construction, technical services, or project execution within the LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, or energy industries.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting large capital projects through engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.

  • Broad understanding of:

    • LNG process facilities

    • Mechanical systems

    • Piping systems

    • Electrical and instrumentation systems

    • Construction execution

    • Quality assurance and quality control

    • Mechanical completion and turnover

    • Commissioning and startup processes

  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

  • Experience working within EPC, EPCM, or owner-led project environments.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to influence project outcomes through technical leadership and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct LNG project experience strongly preferred.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification.

  • Experience supporting greenfield LNG export terminals, liquefaction facilities, or regasification terminals.

  • Expertise in one or more technical disciplines, including process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, commissioning, or construction management.

  • Experience on large-scale projects exceeding $1 billion in total installed cost.

  • Familiarity with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), WorkFace Planning (WFP), and system turnover methodologies.

  • Previous experience in owner's representative, technical authority, lead engineer, or technical advisory roles.
