Job Summary
Client's Computational Science and Informatics Pathology Lab Chapter is a fast-paced, highly interdisciplinary, and technical team focused on redefining the practice of Pathology by developing innovative algorithms using AI technologies to improve outcomes for cancer patients. The Senior Technical Product Manager will be responsible for the successful tactical execution of activities related to Digital Pathology algorithm products. This role will work proactively with Development Leads, Technical Leads, Project Leaders, and IPMs to identify key needs and translate those needs into specifications so that AI teams can create Digital Pathology algorithms that will be deployed on the Navify Digital Pathology Platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate product strategy into detailed scientific requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering and data science teams.
• Serve as the voice of the customer for the product development team throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from product definition through sunsetting.
• Collaborate with customers, team members, and external influencers to develop a proven and well-rounded understanding of products and evolving customer needs.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the digital pathology market, Client's portfolio, and competitive landscape.
• Serve as a high-availability resource for answering day-to-day questions from engineers, data scientists, and designers regarding stories in the product backlog.
• Author user stories, acceptance criteria, product requirements, and software requirements documentation.
• Ensure story content and prioritization remain aligned with larger strategic goals.
• Support User Acceptance Testing activities by interacting with stakeholders.
• Prepare release notes and communicate with business owners regarding features incorporated into each release.
• Work closely with Development Leads, Technical Leads, Project Leaders, and IPMs to translate business and product needs into actionable technical and scientific requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Biology, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Product Management within the healthcare service industry or analogous experience managing requirements for AI/ML-based computer vision systems.
• Proven experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Demonstrated Product Management skills, including the ability to manage priorities, quality, conflict, risk, and related product considerations.
• Strong ability to translate product and customer needs into clear requirements and specifications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical, scientific, business, and customer stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Sciences, Data Science, Biology, Chemistry, or an equivalent field.
• Proven understanding of the digital pathology space and associated technologies.
• Experience working in regulated industries, specifically Medical Devices, Digital Health, or Life Sciences.
• Understanding of Health Canada and FDA regulations and guidelines.
• Experience working with AI/ML, computer vision, or algorithm-based product development.
• Experience supporting products throughout the full product development lifecycle.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and data science teams on AI-driven products.
Additional Information
• Occasional travel may be required, approximately 10-20%, for conferences and client visits.
• Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
