Full Job Description
The Senior Technical Business Analyst - API & Data Integration will partner with Product Owners, Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders to define scalable API-first solutions, analyze complex data flows, and deliver enterprise API and data integration capabilities in a cloud-native AWS environment. This role will translate business objectives into clear technical requirements, support high-quality software delivery, and help improve customer experiences across Personal Wealth solutions.

What you will do:
  • Lead discovery sessions to understand business objectives and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Partner with engineering teams to define and deliver API-first capabilities, system integrations, and distributed solutions.
  • Analyze REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, JSON payloads, integration patterns, data flows, and system behavior.
  • Perform advanced SQL analysis to validate requirements, investigate issues, troubleshoot complex datasets, and support solution design.
  • Develop detailed source-to-target data mappings and document data lineage across multiple systems.
  • Model business capabilities, business processes, and integration workflows.
  • Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, decision tables, functional specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from business objectives through implementation and testing.
  • Collaborate with QA Engineers to ensure solutions are testable and meet business expectations.
  • Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support production investigations by analyzing APIs, data flows, datasets, and system behavior.
  • Recommend improvements that simplify processes, improve customer outcomes, and increase delivery quality.
  • Use AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar tools to improve analysis, documentation, and productivity while validating outputs for accuracy and maintaining quality.
  • Build trusted relationships across business and technology organizations and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Anticipate downstream impacts before development begins and write requirements that minimize ambiguity and rework.
  • Use data to support decisions and continuously identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve delivery.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business and technical audiences.


What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting Agile software engineering teams.
  • Strong experience defining requirements for REST APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of REST, JSON, HTTP methods, and API design principles.
  • Experience reading and interpreting OpenAPI specifications.
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to query, validate, analyze, and troubleshoot complex datasets.
  • Extensive experience with data analysis, source-to-target data mapping, data lineage, and integration analysis.
  • Experience with API-first delivery, cloud-native applications, and AWS environments.
  • Understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience writing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience using AI tools responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining quality.
  • The ability to work effectively at the intersection of business analysis, systems analysis, data, and technology.


What will set you apart:
  • Experience in Personal Wealth, Wealth Management, Brokerage, Retirement Services, Banking, or Financial Services.
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and API security.
  • Experience using Hoppscotch or similar API testing tools.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Datadog, Amazon CloudWatch, or similar observability platforms.

Base Salary Range
$87,400.00 - $123,400.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
