Full Job Description
Your Role: The Sr. Technical Application Specialist, Upstream is a key member of the Customer Applications team, playing a vital role in advancing the Upstream business, specifically in Cell Lines, Cell Culture Media, and related offerings. This role leverages deep expertise in Upstream technologies to collaborate with commercial partners and drive the adoption of innovative technologies. By working closely with Account Managers and other Business Partners, the specialist ensures a seamless customer experience, particularly for those testing and trialing products. The role engages with customers both in person and virtually, presenting expertise while addressing their specific needs, and contributes to developing and executing regional action plans alongside Field Marketing and Commercial teams. Additionally, the role acts as a liaison, sharing customer feedback with leadership to shape strategies and product offerings. Key Accountabilities: - Customer Engagement and Technical Support: - Collaborate with commercial partners to drive the adoption of Cell Lines, Cell Culture Media, and related products. - Partner with Process Development Scientists to ensure a seamless customer experience. - Expertly deliver technical presentations to customers through both face-to-face and virtual interactions. - Prepare and validate information required for prioritizing customer projects. - Develop credibility with customers and colleagues, and use all available tools to position the right product within the portfolio to win new business. - Commercial and Regional Strategy: - Develop and implement initiatives to enhance sales in the designated region. - Assist Field Marketing and Commercial teams in planning and executing regional action plans. - Identify strategic opportunities for market share growth based on customer insights and market dynamics. - Act as an ambassador for MilliporeSigma with a collaborative mindset, supporting the broader product range where applicable. Who You Are Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field - 5-7+ years of relevant technical experience in the life sciences industry along with sales and/or customer-facing experience from prospecting to closure. - Well-versed in upstream processing of biopharmaceuticals, with experience in biological production, including monoclonal antibodies, VGT, recombinant proteins, plasma, or other therapeutics. - Demonstrates strong project management skills, adept at managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. - Fluent in English - Ability to travel 30-50% of the time Preferred Qualifications: - Master's or PhD - Demonstrated commercial mindset - Proven expertise with sterile filtration and virus filtration products, and proficiency in demonstrating their use and implementing them into a biopharmaceutical process. Role preferably based anywhere in the Northeast, US Pay Range for this position: $96,500- $166,300. The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
