What we offer

Reporting to the Director, Taxation & Legal Entities, the senior tax analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, across all aspects of income tax compliance and reporting with a high degree of accuracy and on a timely basis. You'll work across a complex, cross-border asset management platform with exposure to both Canadian and U.S. operations, joint ventures, and institutional partners.

What you'll do
  • Compile and organize working papers to support various tax filings in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare income tax returns for various corporations and partnerships in all jurisdictions that we operate
  • Respond to income tax and/or GST/HST/VAT audit queries from governing bodies in all jurisdictions
  • Track and maintain partnership adjusted cost base for internal and external partners
  • Support and contribute to the structuring of new joint ownership arrangements, including partnerships and joint ventures
  • Research and identify green/sustainability tax credits, including Canadian SR&ED and US R&D claims
  • Support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities to optimize tax efficiency across entities and jurisdictions
  • Communicate and liaison with external partners concerning tax information
  • Liaison with Regional and National finance team members
  • Participate in special projects to support Regional and National management as required.

What you bring
  • University or College degree in a related field
  • 3+ years of work experience in the finance/accounting industry preferred with an emphasis on tax.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian corporate tax
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Advanced working knowledge of computer programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple demands and changing priorities, and deliver results.
  • Strong learning agility and ability to manage competing demands.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.

You are also eligible to participate in Mattamy's annual bonus program which gives you the opportunity to increase your total compensation if business and individual goals are achieved.
