Full Job Description
Position: Senior Tax Accountant

Department: Finance

Work Location(s): Plano, TX or El Paso, TX (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Any updates to this model will be communicated in advance. Please note that hybrid eligibility and schedules may vary based on business needs and manager expectations.

What you'll be doing:

The Senior Tax Accountant will be required to participate in corporate tax compliance, audit management, and tax planning in a multi-national and multi-jurisdictional environment.

  • Review corporate federal, state, and international income tax returns prepared by third parties and prepare other tax filings completed in-house.
  • Participate in the quarterly and year-end tax provisions (using ASC 740) for tax account balance reconciliations of international subsidiaries.
  • Prepare income tax payment calculations and manage payment processes.
  • Maintain tax depreciation, control logs of deliverables, and compliance requirements (transaction, property and/or income taxes, and other informational reporting).
  • Participate in the income tax concepts of non-US subsidiaries.
  • Participate in tax examination inquiries.
  • Research sophisticated federal, state, and international corporate income tax issues.
  • Prepare GILTI, BEAT, FDII, and E&P calculations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in relevant fields: accounting, business administration, economics, finance.
  • 4+ years of tax experience.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Suite; primarily MS Excel, including demonstrated expertise in building and auditing complex formulas (e.g., nested IF statements, Index/Match, XLOOKUP, Sum Product, Array formulas, and Dynamic functions for analyzing large datasets).
  • Experience in multinational and sophisticated structures, and fast-paced environments.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license or qualified for CPA exam.
  • Experience Oracle, OneStream, Workiva.
  • Experience in international tax concepts, inbound, outbound, and non-US.
  • Experience in the consumer products industry.
  • Experience in an in-house corporate tax team, preferably with a publicly traded company.
  • Experience in digital automation and transformation tools Power BI, Power Pivot, Alteryx, Tableau, Robotic Process Automation.
