Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant with an active CPA license to join our established accounting and financial advisory firm.

The successful candidate will work directly with individuals, families, small businesses, trusts, and estates. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical tax work with client relationship management, proactive tax planning, and exposure to financial and wealth advisory services.

Our office is located in Oradell, NJ, approximately a short commute from Hackensack.
Responsibilities
  • Meet with clients and conduct tax-preparation interviews
  • Prepare and, depending on experience, review individual tax returns
  • Prepare partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and estate tax returns
  • Handle Forms 1040, 1065, selected 1120 filings, and Form 706 matters
  • Prepare annual tax projections and planning recommendations
  • Research technical tax issues
  • Identify and execute tax-planning opportunities
  • Assist with trust and estate engagements
  • Participate in retirement, estate, and financial-planning meetings
  • Coordinate tax strategies with financial advisors
  • Deliver year-round accounting, tax, and consulting services
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Support business-development initiatives
  • Train and mentor junior accounting staff when appropriate

Requirements
  • Active CPA license required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Three or more years of public-accounting experience preferred
  • Strong experience preparing individual tax returns
  • Small-business and partnership tax experience
  • Fiduciary, estate, or trust tax experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Professional and confident client presence
  • Highly organized and able to self-manage
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Lacerte experience is a plus
  • QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred
