Full Job Description
We are currently seeking Senior Systems Engineer for Connectivity domain and Over-The-Air(OTA) update features. The successful candidate will exhibit a clear understanding of automotive systems and development thereof. The candidate will be responsible for definition of Model Based Systems Engineering deliverables for Connectivity domain and OTA Updates features. A thorough understanding of system development lifecycle(s) is required to be successful in this role, gained through prior OEM or Tier 1 industry experience.

You Will:
  • Lead the end-to-end systems engineering for the vehicle OTA software update ecosystem-including requirements, architecture, integration, validation, and compliance-spanning in-vehicle ECUs, telematics, update orchestration, diagnostics, and cloud services.
  • Decompose vehicle-level OTA features to ECU-level and cloud/service requirements, own traceability to verification and validation
  • Work closely with Functional Safety Engineers to support development of functional safety concepts and be accountable for the Technical Safety Concept(s). Align safety analyses (HARA, ASIL decomposition) for OTA activities (e.g., degraded features during update)
  • Work closely with the test teams to define and execute the verification and validation plans
  • Work closely with hardware and software development teams on architecture and implementation of allocated requirements
  • Work closely, where applicable, with suppliers to validate component functionality
  • Support product level validation test plan development and execution
  • Coordinate and plan with program management the systems engineering lifecycle activities to deliver to the program release milestones
  • Support the continuous improvement of systems engineering processes across the enterprise

You bring:
  • 3+ years in systems engineering for Connected Vehicles / Embedded Systems, OTA.
  • Experience with vehicle connectivity architecture (TCU, Modem, GNSS, antennas)
  • Knowledge of cellular technologies, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
  • Experience applying Model Based Systems Engineering in a production environment
  • Experience with Automotive embedded electronic product development
  • Experience with ISO26262 in driving requirements and designs for automotive systems
  • Experience with ASPICE conforming process models
  • Hands-on with bootloaders, secure boot, A/B partitioning, delta updates, and campaign orchestration
  • Passion for driving elegant system designs from product definition to engineering solutions.
  • Solid understanding of engineering first principles and systems engineering.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex systems, identify problems, and effectively coordinate an action plan to drive decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to solve open-ended engineering problems using systems-level thinking.
  • A detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ownership mindset, enthusiasm, and a collaborative spirit.

Advantageous:
  • Experience using Cameo/Magic Cyber Systems Engineer and Requirements Management Tools
  • Knowledge of SysML v1, application thereof to system development
  • Industrial experience of Functional Safety, FMEA and risk management processes
  • Working level understanding of Electrical, Electronic and Programmable Systems and Components
  • Understanding of AUTOSAR Architectures
  • Good organizational skills
  • INCOSE certifications such as ASEP, CSEP

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, (other related) engineering or another technical discipline is required.
  • Master's degree or higher education in engineering or another technical discipline is preferred


Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$158,400-$217,800 USD

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
