Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for our RF Plasma Generation business unit at our Hillsboro, OR location. Primary responsibilities will include providing customers with strategic guidance for new product development and project integration of our offerings within their products. Top applicants will possess strong Systems engineering experience in entrepreneurial environments, a demonstrated ability to communicate and inspire across teams and functions in an international environment, technical and entrepreneurial gravitas, and experience in implementing products at customers.

Your tasks

  • Responsible for new product integration with customers and implementation of customer projects in the Semiconductor and RF Plasma Generation domain and beyond ensuring a seamless customer acceptance process and targets achievement.
  • Responsible for Requirements Engineering and Systems Engineering in close cooperation with Business Unit functions and R&D.
  • Analyze customer requirements and align them with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive product integration plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets, while monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary.
  • Communicate customer integration progress, challenges, and roadmap to stakeholders at all levels, fostering transparency, and ensuringalignment and support.
  • Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to inform project direction and maintain the company's competitive edge.
  • Maximize the impact of investments by developing and executing strategic plans and roadmaps that drive innovation and growth.
  • Conduct risk analysis to identify potential risks and challenges within projects and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure R&D activities comply with aligned delivery milestones, industry standards and regulations, including the proper documentation and protection of intellectual property.
  • Coordinate external suppliers regarding quality, cost, and schedule
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate integration success and drive continuous improvement.


Your qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering, systems engineering or relevant technical degree.
  • Proven 5+ years of experience in System Engineering and possessing in-depth knowledge of customer requirements for sophisticated solutions.
  • Expertise in project coordination and requirements engineering risk and working directly with customers and R&D engineers
  • Experience in a matrix organization and strong communication skills within and across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to make decisions under uncertainty, communicating them clearly, and acting with a solution-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 25% and can easily adapt to cultural differences.
  • Ability to structure and prioritize tasks effectively and derive product and solutions requirements for R&D
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and highly organized.
  • Proven experience working in international teams and the flexibility to work across different time zones.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry and an established network is a plus.
  • In order to be considered, candidates must reside in the US and have valid US work authorization.

The total compensation for this position is $110K-$150K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
