Job Description
This opportunity is client facing role that requires excellent communications skills, expert troubleshooting, an ability to articulate technical conversations to a non-technical audience and the perception to discover information and needs.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Systems Architect: Discovery, Assessment, Design, Auditing, and Assisting in the Implementation of systems and networks.
• Client Support: Providing technical escalation assistance to team members with system and network requests.
• R&D: Work with Oversee My IT and clients to research, test, and evaluate new products & technologies.
• Most work will be done from our Irving office, but some occasional travel to client's site will be required.
Qualifications
Technical Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems and its Roles and Features
• Exchange 2003 and up, SQL 2003 and up, Hyper-V and VMWare Virtualization
• LAN/WAN (Networking, Wireless, VPN, VLANS, Routers, Firewalls, T1's, ISP, & etc.)
• Business Continuity and Backup/Disaster Recovery (Planning, StorageCraft, Datto, etc.)
• Server Hardware (Planning, Configurations, Builds, RAID, and Troubleshooting)
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
• Server Storage (iSCSI, SAN, DAS, NAS, etc.)
• Previous experience in Managed Services
• LabTech Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM); or comparable tools
• ConnectWise or comparable ticket system
Other Requirements:
• Over 2 years of IT experience as a Systems Engineer
• Ability to multitask & work on multiple issues & projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently & with a team
• Well-spoken and courteous
• Valid driver's license, car, auto insurance & willingness to travel to local clients' sites
• You enjoy helping others, utilizing your extensive IT skills and experience.
• Prefer quality over quantity when engaging with clients
• Ability to think quickly on your feet and adapt to any situation
• You do not limit yourself to a job title and are willing to help out wherever needed
• You are a self-starter
