Senior Systems Analyst (Reporting & EDI Data Analysis)

Overview / Summary

HTC is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to plan, design, develop, enhance, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data extractions while performing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data analysis for the Health Benefit Exchange (HBX) and related systems. This role supports reporting, analytics, data quality initiatives, and EDI operations in a fast-paced environment serving internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, build, and manage complex operational and federally mandated reports.
  • Identify and evaluate approaches for generating reports, dashboards, and data extraction requirements throughout the design, implementation, and post-implementation lifecycle.
  • Write complex SQL queries for data extractions and develop reports using Tableau and other reporting tools with PostgreSQL and other databases as data sources.
  • Identify opportunities for securely sharing commonly used data internally and externally.
  • Interpret data and perform analysis to support management decision-making, policy formulation, and review.
  • Utilize database applications and analytical tools to evaluate data quality and maintain operational functions.
  • Analyze business processes and develop data solutions, reports, and dashboards to meet reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver data solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform Medicaid 8001 Flat File validation and analysis.
  • Review Member Person Index (MPI) records for SSN matching and Master Data Management (MDM) matching.
  • Perform HBX system error analysis, validate 1095-A and 1095-B files, and reconcile Medicaid 8001 transactions.
  • Assist development, EDI operations, and testing teams with analyzing, fixing, testing, and transmitting EDI files on a daily basis.
  • Create data change requests to resolve consumer or system-reported errors.
  • Coordinate with technical and business teams to analyze error reports and perform root cause analysis for transaction rejections.
  • Adhere to all security, change control, and Project Management Office (PMO) policies, processes, and methodologies.
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime as needed, including weekends, holidays, and off-hours.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing complex data extractions, analysis, report generation, and dashboard creation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a complex IT organization developing queries and custom reports utilizing SQL, stored procedures, and complex queries.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing reports and dashboards using reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience translating business requirements into effective data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining reporting databases and data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple critical priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
