Full Job Description
Copperhead Technologies, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support USSOCOM SOCRATES. The Senior Systems Administrator plays a critical role in sustaining mission-critical USSOCOM enterprise network operations, delivering advanced Tier III systems administration and technical support across a complex, high-security IT environment.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that servers, storage, and virtualized infrastructure are properly installed, configured, and maintained, and supporting the SOF Geospatial Enterprise (SGE) by administering ESRI ArcGIS Advanced Server and ArcGIS Pro environments in accordance with Command requirements.
  • Ensuring, as part of the support team, that the servers and storage associated with the various installations are installed and correctly wired in the racks and are built to efficiently handle and test the ability of workstations to obtain network services.
  • Maintaining VMware virtualized environments and Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure, applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to harden systems, and providing ongoing storage and networking support.


Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in confined areas.


Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


Travel:

  • 11-20% / Occasional travel.
  • This position may require travel to remote overseas locations for extended periods of time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Current, active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility.
  • Minimum five years of experience administering Microsoft Windows Server in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and managing VMware solutions.
  • Proficiency in storage and networking administration.
  • Familiarity with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) Familiar with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across server, storage, and networking infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with program office and engineering staff on system administration tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and coordination with PMO and IA organizations.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Advanced Server and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Special Operations enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience supporting Tier I-IV help desk escalation structures within a program office.
  • ESRI technical certifications (e.g., ArcGIS Desktop or Server Associate/Professional)
  • VMware certification (e.g., VCP)
  • CompTIA Security+
