SAIC is looking for an experienced, proactive Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer who is a self-starter capable of autonomous, on-the-job, learning/growth while working in a collaborative environment of small teams. The ideal candidate will employ their skills and experience to tackle technical challenges and drive executable solutions for legacy and transitioning strategic and tactical space-based telecommunication capabilities. This opportunity is an engineering management position where the ideal candidate will not only have the required technical acumen, but also the ability to proactively engage and effectively manage technical baselines using established/proven government systems engineering, integration & test (SEIT) processes and procedures to advance O&S activities for legacy and transitioning capabilities employed in the field. Join our high-functioning, high-performing MSEIT Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT) and be an important part of directly and positively affecting Joint and Allied combat readiness as they employ MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals and software applications worldwide during full spectrum military operations.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force's Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force's acquisition of state-of-the-art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Engage both government and corporate stakeholders to effectively produce outstanding results.
• Provide senior-level critical thinking and problem solving skills to the government customer; drive technical challenges to their most logical resolution.
• Coordinate with numerous stakeholders/customers from DoW agencies to commercial industry that translate to tangible, positive, mission-focused results.
• Learn and apply established government SEIT processes and procedures in support of MILSATCOM and NC3 O&S activities.
• Develop, analyze and maintain systems engineering documentation and capability requirements to ensure alignment with mission objectives and continuous readiness.
• Apply Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) frameworks and DoW acquisition best practices to daily program office operations, directly advancing strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems.
• Travel: Up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government customer direction.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Active DoW SECRET clearance required to be considered for this position.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university.Must have at least 6 years of overal experience
• 5 years experience in SE&I associated with system acquisitions and/or O&S.
• Expertise with requirements development and analysis and the development of systems engineering-related documents.
• Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (i.e., Jira/Confluence).
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective interpersonal and team-player skills.
• Clear and concise written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

DESIRED:
• 6+ years of experience in a DoW program office with an understanding of DoW acquisition processes.
• 6+ years of experience working with strategic & tactical MILSATCOM space systems.
• Experience working in a CMMI environment.
• Possess knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (e.g., Jira/Confluence).
• Direct experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (CM) processes.
• Possess Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
