The Division

The Court IT Department team will consist of 4 System Administrators, 5 Developers, 2 data analysts, IT Supervisor, and an IT Director.  The team utilizes an agile development methodology.  As a small team, we strive to create a culture that fosters open communication, goal orientation and results. The team supports each other while providing a fun environment.

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The annual salary range for this position is $ 86,634.00- $ 142,947.00. This position qualifies for our generous benefits which include but is not limited to:

Location

In this position you can expect to work in downtown Denver in the Denver Post Building.  We also do onsite support in 4 other locations nearby; City & County Building, Denver Detention Center, Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse, and the Minoru Yasui Building. Opportunity to Work From Home 1 day a week after successfully passing 6-month probation period.

What You’ll Do

The Denver County Court (DCC) is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our specialized team.

  • As a Senior IT Systems Administrator, you can expect to:
  • Be a part of a dynamic, collaborative, and specialized team
  • Be a team lead and mentor/coach other teammates in the department.
  • Provide help desk support to Denver County Court staff including Judges and Magistrates, troubleshooting issues remotely and in-person.
  • Manage projects that are assigned by IT Manager.
  • Configure and manage enterprise technologies including network, infrastructure, web hosting, cryptography, operation systems and applications.
  • Maintain hardware and software patch management and inventory.
  • Set up technology requirements for presentations and meetings.
  • Collaborate with other teams throughout the Court.
  • Manage user accounts.
  • Monitor logs and performance on servers and networks
  • Be on call 24/7 in a rotation schedule shared with other members of the team.
  • Assist IT Supervisor with updates on policies & procedures and CJIS compliance

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively and be open to new technology and innovative ideas. Additionally, the candidate will have the following:

  • Strong PowerShell command-line interfaces and Cisco experience
  • Background in Systems Administration using Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365
  • Prior team lead experience
  • Project management experience
  • Cybersecurity, intrusion detection, and firewall knowledge a plus
  • Experience managing resources/budget
  • Desire to always learn and improve

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a directly related field.

Experience:  Three (3) years of professional Information Technology experience installing, maintaining, and/or modifying application software, operating system and/or network operating system software and associated hardware.

Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
