Job Description
  • Lead sustainability consulting engagements and serve as the primary project contact for assigned projects and programs.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, work plans, and resource allocations to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions, and prepare supporting documentation and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver client presentations, technical workshops, executive summaries, and strategic recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor while identifying opportunities to expand services and create additional value.
  • Support business development activities, including client pursuits, opportunity identification, proposal (RFP/RFQ) development, fee proposals, scope definition, interview preparation, and presentation support.
  • Support Associate Directors in project delivery, client management, business planning, operational initiatives, and strategic sustainability programs.
  • Provide strategic sustainability advice that aligns environmental objectives with business, financial, and project goals.
  • Mentor and support junior team members through technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives, thought leadership, and continuous improvement of internal processes, tools, and service delivery.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulations, certification programs, and best practices related to sustainability, decarbonization, and sustainable construction.

Decarbonization & Net Zero Advisory
  • Support the development of decarbonization strategies, net zero pathways, carbon baselines, and implementation roadmaps for clients and projects.
  • Conduct benchmarking, gap assessments, and carbon hotspot analyses to identify risks, opportunities, and priority actions.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and recommendations that translate technical findings into business-focused strategies.

Embodied Carbon & Life Cycle Assessment
  • Perform embodied carbon, whole life carbon, and life cycle assessments using industry-standard tools such as EC3 and One Click LCA, and prepare technical reports and client deliverables.
  • Analyze, validate, and manage project data required to complete sustainability assessments and carbon analyses.
  • Review Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), low-carbon material solutions, and construction data to support project sustainability objectives.
  • Interpret construction-related documentation, including drawings, specifications, estimates, procurement information, and design packages.
  • Develop embodied carbon baselines, reduction strategies, and material optimization recommendations in collaboration with project teams.
  • Provide technical expertise on life cycle assessment methodologies, low-carbon materials, embodied carbon reduction, and sustainable construction practices.


Qualifications

Education & Industry Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field from an accredited institution. Proven experience as a Structural Engineer or Architect managing building specifications for complex infrastructure or large-scale commercial developments. Relevant experience within the AEC, development, or real estate industries may be considered in lieu of specific degree or credential requirements.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience integrating sustainability frameworks, environmental compliance, or carbon-mitigation logic directly into large-scale, complex projects.
  • Experience working directly with developers, site general contractors, localized engineering groups, and external project stakeholders.

Technical Qualifications
  • Familiarity with construction specifications, construction documentation, and design/construction delivery processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with construction estimating and quantity take-offs.
  • Understanding of construction costs and industry-standard estimating practices.
  • Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly proficient in Google Workspace.
  • High proficiency in interpreting third-party verified Type III Product-Specific Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools and frameworks.
  • Advanced hands-on experience utilizing the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3) platform.
  • Familiarity with material impact evaluations across structural steel, concrete, aluminium, copper, and asphalt.

Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $135K-$150K- per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
