Fishbeck is seeking a talented and motivated Surveyor/Survey Team Lead to establish and expand our surveying practice in the Texas market. This is a unique opportunity to build a high-performing team from the ground up and lead impactful projects that support transportation engineering and construction initiatives across the region.

We're looking for a licensed professional to build and lead a surveying team, someone who thrives in both field and office settings, demonstrates strong leadership, and is passionate about mentoring others while consistently delivering high-quality results.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and oversee field survey operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Plan and coordinate survey projects, including scheduling and resource management.
  • Interpret legal documents, plats, and engineering drawings to determine property boundaries.
  • Perform complex calculations and data analysis for boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
  • Review and validate survey data for compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to integrate survey data into design workflows.
  • Mentor junior survey staff and promote technical growth.
  • Prepare and review survey reports, plats, and documentation for clients and agencies.
  • Establish survey workflows, QA/QC process, and best practices for a growing team.
  • Assist in project budgeting, estimating, and proposal development.
  • Help grow Fishbeck's presence in Texas by strengthening relationships with TxDOT, counties, municipalities, and local partners.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Physical Requirements

Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing. Good vision, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness are essential.
