Full Job Description
Job Description

Oracle is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Engineer to serve as a Factory Quality Engineer supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) hardware platforms. This role will support factory quality execution for complex AI infrastructure, server, and rack-level products from New Product Introduction (NPI) through production ramp and sustaining shipment, with a primary focus on critical 2026/2027 cutting-edge AI hardware ramps.

As part of the Quality organization, you will help ensure manufacturing delivery, outgoing quality, and field reliability by translating factory quality signals into clear risks and actions. You will work closely with Oracle hardware engineering, manufacturing, test, quality, component engineering, supplier quality, and program teams, as well as external manufacturing partners and suppliers, to ensure factory issues are understood, contained, and driven to closure.

You will use yield and failure data, factory test coverage, Outgoing Box Audit (OBA) findings, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) discipline, and risk assessment to support product readiness and OK-to-Ramp and OK-to-Ship decisions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Monitor factory quality performance across assigned products and manufacturing sites, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), Outgoing Box Audit (OBA), L10/L11 yield, First Pass Yield (FPY), All Pass Yield (APY), retest rate, failure pareto, and test stability.
  • Analyze factory quality signals to identify open quality risks, containment gaps, unresolved factory issues, recurring failure modes, and potential customer escape risks before products ramp or ship.
  • Drive factory issue containment, failure data review, RCCA follow-up, corrective action implementation, and validation with manufacturing partners, suppliers, and Oracle engineering teams.
  • Ensure process escapes, rework risks, test instability, and recurring factory failures are documented, assigned to clear owners, and tracked through closure.
  • Review factory test coverage to confirm known failure modes are detectable before shipment.
  • Evaluate OBA effectiveness in identifying workmanship, configuration, labeling, packaging, cosmetic, documentation, and functional escapes.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Test teams to identify and reduce yield gaps, debug churn, retest-driven instability, and recurring production-line failures.
  • Build and maintain factory quality risk registers for key programs, including containment status, RCCA ownership, target closure dates, and residual risk.
  • Support NCAT, SSP, program readiness reviews, and executive quality updates with clear data, concise risk assessments, and recommended next actions.
  • Work closely with Santa Clara-based Oracle hardware engineering, quality, manufacturing, test, component engineering, and program teams to align factory quality actions with overall product readiness.
  • Support OK-to-Ramp and OK-to-Ship decisions by ensuring remaining quality risks are clearly understood, current, and actionable.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in manufacturing quality, process quality, supplier quality, product quality, hardware quality, reliability engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of factory quality processes and metrics, including IQC, OQC, OBA, factory test flow, yield metrics, pareto analysis, retest rate, containment, and corrective action.
  • Experience applying structured root-cause and corrective-action methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, CAPA, or other disciplined problem-solving approaches.
  • Ability to analyze failure data, distinguish known issues from emerging risks, and drive fact-based issue closure with manufacturing partners, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
  • Ability to make sound quality and risk decisions using incomplete data in fast-moving production ramp or shipment environments.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical issues and quality risks into clear actions for cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with external manufacturers, suppliers, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, field teams, repair teams, or related partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with server, rack-level, GPU, networking, storage, power, thermal, or other data center infrastructure products, particularly cutting-edge AI infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience supporting NPI, production ramp, OK-to-Ramp, OK-to-Ship, stop-ship, containment, or customer-impacting quality reviews.
  • Familiarity with Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR), test coverage validation, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), or reliability qualification.
  • Experience working with high-volume manufacturing partners, Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), Electronics Manufacturers (EMs), repair operations, or supplier factory audits.
  • Six Sigma, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Lean, or equivalent quality and reliability training.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means making factory quality risks visible early and driving them toward clear, evidence-based resolution. You will help ensure critical factory and field failure modes have effective containment, defined RCCA ownership, and validated corrective actions.

Your work will enable OK-to-Ramp and OK-to-Ship decisions to be supported by current data, clear risk statements, and actionable next steps. You will help ensure manufacturing partners have appropriate process controls, test coverage, and escalation paths to protect outgoing quality, while using IQC, OQC, and OBA findings as active signals for continuous improvement.

Over time, your work will help reduce recurring failures, retest churn, process escapes, and late-stage quality escalations through disciplined problem solving and stronger factory quality execution.
