JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Overview

The Senior Supplier Specialist, Direct and TPM will have accountability for 100% product availability of all commercial/Clinical products by managing supplier performance, maintaining close supplier relationships, highlighting supplier related risks to drive mitigation strategies when needed, and partnering with quality on supplier quality issue resolution. The Senior Supplier Manager, Direct and TPM will work with direct material suppliers and third party/external contract manufacturers to ensure adequate capacity is in place to meet our near- and long-term volume goals. In addition, the Senior Supplier Manager Direct and TPM will support the business by reducing risk and/or improving products - supporting on-market products by coordinating product improvements and changes needed with suppliers. Lastly, this role will act as an escalation path for other members of the team to support accountabilities of the Supplier Management, Direct and TPM team.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • 100% product availability for all commercial/clinical products by managing supplier performance, maintaining close supplier relationships, highlighting supplier related risks to drive mitigation strategies when needed, and partnering with quality on supplier quality issue resolution
  • 100% product availability by ensuring adequate capacity is in place with suppliers to meet our near and long term volume goals
  • Reducing risk or improving products - supporting on market products by coordinating product improvements and changes needed with suppliers
  • Supplier management of direct material suppliers and contract manufacturers. Includes performance management, risk monitoring, capacity management, change management, and relationship building
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers and cross functional internal teams including Quality, Engineering, MQSC and the Business when opportunities arise and technical support/follow up is required.
  • Lead or support internal teams to qualify a change (likely led by an Ops PM). Responsibilities could include transfer of internal designs to suppliers, coordinating supplier meetings with the team, managing the supplier schedule
  • Work with Planning and Direct Procurement on sending forecasts, purchase requisitions to PO conversion and be escalation points for supplier events
  • Attend/coordinate cross functional meetings such as MRB that support new initiatives or could impact direct material suppliers or third-party manufacturers AND be a voice for the entire Direct and TPM team
  • Serve as business owner of collection kits, representing interests of R&D, clinical lab, and operations through closer relationships with those functional areas
  • Coordinate and lead recurring reviews of supplier performance and business reviews
  • Provide updates to stakeholders to ensure all are aware of ongoing initiatives and projects within contract manufacturing supply chain.
  • Drive change and improvement with Global Supplier Management team and Quality to appropriately segment direct material suppliers, to drive level of oversight and frequency of business reviews, meetings, etc
  • Proactively works with GSM team to monitor ongoing health and risk level of existing suppliers
  • Develop SOW with suppliers to build out capacity, capabilities, make improvements or support the supply chain.
  • Provide technical information to suppliers to support investigations and partner with Quality.
  • Coordinate/lead cross-functional meetings with suppliers to address technical and/or quality issues
  • Lead development of needed CapEx and OpEx budgets for third-party manufacturers in alignment with Abbott Cancer Diagnostics budgeting process and policies
  • Build knowledge of the Suppliers enterprise, processes, supply chain, and management to best support the program
  • Strong leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multi-level personnel as well as vendors and their representatives

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management or related field.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated work experience commensurate to above job duties.
  • 1+ years of experience in injection molding, sourcing of injection molded parts, high-volume assembly processes, or related contract manufacturing experience.
  • 1+ years of CapEx & OpEx budgeting experience.
  • 3 years of experience managing company-owned assets and work with FP&A on depreciation schedules, asset status and future capital planning.
  • Detailed knowledge of GMP facilities, equipment, and processes.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • 2+ years of program management experience.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.

The base pay for this position is
$78,000.00 - $156,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
