Senior Structural Engineer - Qualifications- Sole U.S. citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
- Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance
- B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school
- Nuclear/DOE Experience required
- 10+ years of post-education experience
- PE or SE license preferred, with ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed
Responsibilities & Capabilities- Perform Engineer of Record (EOR) duties as assigned
- Perform design and full documentation of structural systems
- Interface directly with client counterparts (virtually and on-site) to develop project solutions
- Integrate with multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture, Civil, Document Control, Project Controls, etc.)
- Estimate, schedule, and track projects for cost and schedule performance
Technical Expertise- Knowledge of DOE, NRC, and nuclear standards (e.g., DOE-1020, NRC regulatory framework)
- Understanding of soil-structure interaction and probabilistic seismic hazard analysis
- Expert design knowledge of:
- Steel
- Concrete
- Masonry
(with emphasis on seismic design)
- Expert application of national codes:
- Experience working within an NQA-1 quality program
- Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures
Software Proficiency- Finite element software (e.g., STAAD.Pro or equivalent)
- MathCAD (or equivalent)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Project, Word, Excel, etc.)
