Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to become a key technical leader within our growing organization. As we continue expanding our engineering capabilities, we are looking for an experienced engineer who wants more than a traditional design position. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, partnering with operations, and helping shape the future of an engineering department.

You will work alongside executive leadership, project managers, crane and rigging professionals, safety leaders, and field teams to develop engineered solutions for some of the Southeast's most challenging construction, heavy lift, steel erection, transportation, and industrial projects.

If you are looking for another engineering job where your work rarely leaves the office, this probably is not the right fit.

If you enjoy seeing your engineering decisions come to life in the field and want the opportunity to influence projects, people, and the direction of a growing organization, we would like to speak with you.

What You'll Do

Rather than spending every day behind a desk, you will divide your time between engineering, collaboration, and field support.

You will:
  • Develop engineered lift plans, structural calculations, and technical solutions for complex construction and heavy lift projects.
  • Evaluate structural loading, temporary support conditions, crane configurations, rigging systems, and construction methodologies.
  • Partner directly with operations and project teams to solve real-world engineering challenges.
  • Visit project sites to support planning, evaluate constructability, and provide technical guidance during critical operations.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction teams by identifying engineering risks and practical solutions.
  • Help establish engineering standards, procedures, calculation methods, and best practices.
  • Mentor future engineering talent as the department continues to grow.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to leadership across the organization.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting complex engineering projects in construction, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, consulting, or related industries.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and field operations teams.
  • Willingness to work in both office and project site environments.

Why Join Superior Rigging & Erecting?

This role offers a unique opportunity to:
  • Help build and shape a growing engineering function.
  • Work directly with executive leadership.
  • Influence projects from concept through field execution.
  • Solve technically challenging engineering problems that require creativity and practical thinking.
  • See your engineering work implemented in the field.

  • Work alongside experienced professionals who value teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Competitive compensation will be based on experience, technical expertise, and professional licensure.
