Description

We are in search of a Senior Strategic Sourcing Engineer to ensure viable, compliant, supply sources while mitigating associated risk, maximizing quality, and minimizing cost.

Key Responsibilities:
  • A. Strategic sourcing of assigned products/commodities
  • B. Participate in cross-functional teams to improve new product development, design for manufacturability (DFM), and identify and resolve nonconformance issues, problems or improve processes
  • C. Manage and drive continuous improvement in supply base and activities related to renewal agreements, objective performance metrics, lead time reduction, on-time delivery, quality and cost reduction
  • D. Facilitate and lead Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) and Six Sigma Processes
  • E. Prepare and issue RFQ's, negotiating price and delivery terms, and ensuring the accuracy of purchase order, and summarize RFQ results
  • F. Source product and materials according to drawing specifications and project requirements
  • G. Evaluate and measure suppliers' performance and initiate corrective action when expectations are not met
  • H. Identify areas of risk for the business (i.e.; delivery, quality, cost, performance, etc.) through activities such as monitoring global events, and make recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • I. Assist in accounting discrepancies and pricing variance reports; coordinate Engineering Change Orders with suppliers, maintain accurate record, and communicate necessary cost adjustments
  • J. Monitor and maintain accurate quote files, component pricing, material discrepancy reports, and special cost adjustments.
  • K. Lead the research of new technologies with potential to enhance existing product or provide new avenues for product solutions.


Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related discipline

5+ years experience in a supply chain role with ERP systems experience (manufacturing environment preferred)

Advanced use of Microsfot Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for business analytics
