Field Engineer. This an 18- 24-month duration from award based in the New Orleans (Waggaman) area.

Field Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient start up and operation of chemical plant equipment and processes. This role provides technical assistance for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and project execution while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations Support- Provide technical mechanical support/input to production and operations teams.
- Support startup, shutdown, and turnaround activities.
Equipment Reliability and Maintenance- Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Monitor reliability of rotating and static equipment, including:
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Heat exchangers
- Pressure vessels
- Reactors
- Storage tanks
- Piping systems
- Develop recommendations to improve equipment reliability and availability.
Process Troubleshooting- Resolve equipment breakdowns and operational problems.
- Support emergency maintenance and shutdown activities.
- Recommend repair methods and equipment modifications.
Safety and Environmental Compliance- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
Project Engineering and Execution- Assist with plant modification and capital improvement projects.
- Review technical specifications, engineering packages, and scope documents.
- Monitor maintenance project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
Inspection and Integrity Management- Support mechanical integrity programs.
- Participate in equipment inspections and condition assessments.
- Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) activities.
- Review inspection reports and recommend repairs or replacements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards.
Commissioning and Startup Activities- Assist with commissioning new equipment and systems and verify proper installation and functionality.
- Support plant startup and performance testing.
- Provide technical support during commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, fertilizer, or industrial manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of chemical plant operations and industrial equipment.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
