Full Job Description
In Montreal, this is a unionized position.

As a Senior Strategic IT Procurement Advisor, you contribute to contractual agreements with Desjardins Group's partners for the acquisition or leasing of goods and services for the organization. You procure the products required for operations by planning and coordinating with suppliers. You may be responsible for one or more sub-specialties, such as strategic procurement, procurement of goods and services, asset management, contract and partnership management, inventory and restocking, outsourced service management, and governance. You lead practitioners on development projects and innovative, complex strategic initiatives. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your specialty area. You make recommendations on the development and execution of projects and initiatives with a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills and comprehensive, detailed understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as a specialist advisor and subject matter expert. You're also a resource person and coach for decision-making bodies. You represent Desjardins's position when making major agreements with external suppliers. More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Provide input on complex IT procurement files
  • Advise your clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor projects and major initiatives under your responsibility
  • Develop and implement strategies and action plans based on strategic directions and procurement business positions.
  • Analyze needs. Identify and analyze issues. Address significant issues. Diagnose issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit's strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop, implement and monitor solutions, processes, strategic improvements and long-term cost optimization approaches. Develop indicators and monitoring approaches for supplier performance
  • Represent your unit before decision-making bodies
