Sr Strategic Analyst

The Senior Strategic Analyst translates complex business questions and data into actionable insights and recommendations that support company strategy and decision-making. This role partners with leaders across the organization to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and develop analytical solutions that improve financial and operational outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, curiosity, and analytical problem-solving with the technical ability to work independently with data. They should be comfortable taking an ambiguous business question, identifying key drivers, developing an analytical approach, and translating results into clear recommendations for business and executive leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to understand strategic objectives, business challenges, and opportunities and translate them into well-defined analytical questions.
  • Analyze complex financial, operational, and strategic problems and develop clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Identify key drivers of business performance and distinguish meaningful insights from large or complex datasets.
  • Develop and maintain financial, operational, profitability, and decision-support models used to evaluate business performance, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Independently source, combine, transform, validate, and analyze data using SQL, Excel, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and other analytical tools as appropriate.
  • Perform company, regional, market, customer, and other business-level analyses to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and underlying performance drivers.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations and clearly communicate analytical findings, recommendations, and business implications.
  • Design scalable analytical tools, datasets, and reporting solutions that improve the speed, consistency, and quality of business decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing business processes, KPIs, reports, dashboards, and analytical models.
  • Manage medium to large analytical projects with minimal oversight and adapt analytical approaches as business needs evolve.
  • Provide analytical guidance and support to other analysts and contribute to the continued development of team capabilities and best practices.


Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Analytics, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, strategic analysis, FP&A, analytics, consulting, or a related discipline.


Qualifications / Requirements

  • Exceptional business acumen and ability to understand the financial and operational drivers of a business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous business questions and develop an analytical approach.
  • Ability to identify meaningful relationships, trends, and business drivers within complex information and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated experience developing analytical models and performing complex analysis.
  • Strong SQL proficiency with the ability to independently source, join, transform, and analyze data.
  • Experience with, or ability to quickly learn, modern analytics tools and workflows including Snowflake, dbt, Git/GitHub, and Python.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills with the ability to clearly communicate analytical findings to senior leadership.
  • Experience working with business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively across Finance, Operations, Sales, and other business functions.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and analytical integrity.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in FP&A, corporate strategy, pricing, profitability analysis, operations finance, or strategic decision support.
  • Experience developing business cases, profitability models, forecasts, or other financial and operational decision-support models.
  • Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, management reporting, or automated decision-support tools.
  • Experience presenting analyses or recommendations to senior or executive leadership.
