Role description:

Arcadis is seeking two Senior Stormwater Resilience Engineers to join our growing teams in Dallas, and Austin, TX! These are lead roles supporting the development of stormwater opportunities in the Central or North Texas regions.

Role accountabilities:

As a Senior Stormwater Resilience Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the development of resiliency projects focused on urban drainage systems, streams, and rivers. This involves devising and implementing both structural and non-structural mitigation solutions, integrating green and gray infrastructure approaches to enhance stormwater management and flood resilience.

You will manage the planning, design, and construction administration phases of projects, ensuring full compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, alongside adherence to Arcadis quality and safety standards. Effective communication with clients is essential including establishing project objectives, coordinating resources, and ensuring timely, budget-compliant delivery that meets client performance expectations.

Your role requires providing technical expertise on multi-disciplinary projects acting as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor. You will supervise and support the work of others offering mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff to foster professional development.

Direct client engagement is expected to identify needs, deliver tailored solutions, and lead the growth of client relationships, especially with strategic and target clients. You will also play a key role in the marketing and proposal phases of projects, contributing to the preparation of proposals, presentations, and the development of scopes of work and budgets for stormwater and flood resiliency initiatives.

Travel may be required to conduct project site visits, attend client meetings, perform safety audits, support planning activities, or oversee construction, as dictated by project staffing and requirements.

Key Skills/Attributes

Candidate should have excellent technical engineering skills as well as strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills. The ability to lead teams and collaborates with clients is essential. We are looking for candidates with excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in stormwater design or related fields, with a strong understanding of local market dynamics. Experience with client relationships/experience with the local municipalities is highly desired.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in Civil, Environmental, or related.
  • P.E. license or ability to acquire P.E. licensure in Texas within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 12+ years' experience.
  • Active involvement in local professional organizations, stormwater committees, or green infrastructure groups.
  • Responsible Charge (Engineer of Record) or Project Management experience on stormwater projects of various sizes.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $122,478 - $208,212. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
