Full Job Description
Job Summary

We are seeking a fullstack Senior Staff Engineer to drive the architecture, development, and scaling of our Next Generation Trust Security (NGTS) CodeSign and Protocols modules. In this role, you will act as a premier technical authority, executing end to end feature delivery and engineering distributed systems optimized to process millions of workflows each day. As a fullstack leader, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, navigating ambiguity seamlessly while working across the entire stack from API design to user interface implementation. You will be a trusted expert, a security advocate, and a core mentor who uplifts team capability and establishes engineering best practices. This role is available for engineers who are open to working from the Salt Lake City, Utah office in a hybrid capacity 3 days a week.

Core Responsibilities

Technical Leadership and Fullstack Architecture
  • End to End Feature Delivery: Take complete ownership of complex feature lifecycles, breaking down massive work streams, managing timelines, minimizing rework, and accelerating cycle times.
  • Backend Engineering: Build and maintain scalable backend services using Golang, and advanced orchestration engines like Temporal, implementing resilient business logic and microservices integrations.
  • Frontend Innovation: Develop high performance, intuitive web applications utilizing TypeScript, React, and MUI X, translating complex technical workflows into smooth, low friction user experiences.
  • Graph Architecture: Design sophisticated GraphQL schemas that integrate seamlessly with the broader NGTS super graph, and implement optimized GraphQL resolvers.
  • Extensibility and Code Health: Design clean interfaces, refactor complex legacy logic, and minimize toil for future maintainers by practicing defensive coding to reduce defect escape rates.

Scalability, Reliability, and Production Engineering
  • Design for Scale: Architect features with deep consideration for scale, reliability, and performance trade offs, taking ownership of scale testing and horizontal scaling for SaaS modules.
  • Cross Functional Infrastructure: Partner closely with Test Enablement and Production Engineering teams to prepare the infrastructure required for rigorous, large scale performance testing.
  • Production Operations: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across distributed services, drive root cause analysis, reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), and participate in the team paid on call rotation to ensure platform availability.

Team Capability, Mentorship, and Collaboration
  • Cross Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Product Management and Design to refine requirements, validate designs through telemetry and prototypes, and significantly reduce user friction.
  • Mentorship and Onboarding: Actively onboard and mentor engineering peers, helping new team members become highly effective, confident contributors in a short period of time.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Write explicit design notes, clarify complex technical choices for peers, document tribal knowledge, and structure documentation to be modern and RAG ready.
  • Process Innovation: Run technical experiments, share outcomes, and proactively help the team adopt modern libraries, patterns, or AI tools while rigorously checking outputs for errors.
