Full Job Description

Your Team, Your Impact

The AI revolution is reshaping the world’s infrastructure—and Marvell is at its center. As AI workloads scale beyond individual racks and data centers, the critical bottleneck is no longer compute alone: it’s connectivity. Hyperscalers are racing to build the next generation of AI factories, and the demand for faster, denser, and more power-efficient optical interconnect has never been more urgent. Marvell engineers the frontier analog and digital signal processing technology that makes this all possible: connecting GPUs to memory to switches, spanning millimeters inside a semiconductor package to thousands of kilometers across the continent. Our coherent DSP solutions address both scale-out within data centers and scale-across between them—enabling the disaggregated, high-performance infrastructure that modern AI demands.

At Marvell, you’ll work on problems that matter—at a scale that few companies can offer. You’ll help enable the infrastructure that runs the world’s most demanding AI workloads, with the depth and resources of a semiconductor leader behind you.

We seek a Senior Staff Applications Engineer who wants to be where the action is—working closely with the hardware manufacturers and hyperscalers defining the AI era, translating cutting-edge coherent optical technology into real-world deployments at massive scale.

What You Can Expect

  • Serve as the primary technical face of Marvell for key customers integrating our coherent DSP solutions into next-generation AI and cloud platforms.
  • Own customer success end-to-end—from design-in and bring-up through validation and production deployment.
  • Lead complex technical issue resolution with urgency and precision; the problems you solve will drive revenue growth.
  • Work closely with Marvell’s analog, DSP, systems, optical, and software teams to clear engineering roadblocks and accelerate customer timelines.
  • Be a voice of the customer internally—turning real-world challenges into actionable product and design feedback.
  • Operate at the frontier of scale-out and scale-across optical architectures, enabling the high-performance connectivity that modern AI workloads demand.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience—or a Master’s/PhD with 3+ years.
  • Deep knowledge of DSP fundamentals and analog/mixed-signal circuits as applied to high-speed optical communications.
  • Experience with coherent optical communications and optical DSPs is preferred; candidates with deep expertise in adjacent domains are also welcome to apply.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed signal characterization, preferably with electro-optic components and characterization techniques.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments and knows how to build trust with technical customers.
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB is a plus.
  • Periodic travel to customer sites in Silicon Valley and worldwide.
