  • Drive enhancements in accounting processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with teams like FP&A and Technology to assess accounting impacts of contracts.

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will focus on expense accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting within our fast-growing fintech/payments business. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with complex accounting transactions. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in driving accurate financial reporting, supporting audits, and partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize processes.

What You'll Do
  • Lead expense accounting and accrual processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, timely resolution of discrepancies, and proper supporting documentation.
  • Analyze contracts, invoices, and business transactions to provide guidance on proper expense classification and accrual treatment.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual expense and accrual schedules, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, timely resolution of discrepancies, and proper supporting documentation.
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to inquiries accurately and promptly.
  • Drive process improvements across corporate accounting workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Marketing, and Technology to review contracts and assess accounting impact.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on expense and accrual matters, providing recommendations and insights to support business decisions.

What We're Looking For
