Job Title: Senior Specialist, Structural Engineering

Job Schedule: 9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist, Structures Engineer. This role will be located out of our Propulsion Systems facility located in Canoga Park, CA. In this role, you will support the RS-25 rocket engine program and perform RS-25 component structural analysis in support of flight, test and fabrication.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide structural design guidance, scope analysis efforts and perform detailed structural analyses for RS-25 component NCRs. Provide assessment of the product's ability to satisfy internal structural requirements as well as those flowed by the customer.
  • Report status and results of analysis tasks at design and program reviews. Prepare detailed technical reports documenting all analysis activities, present results at program reviews, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Apply technical expertise to directly contribute to the performance of the team relative to dispositioning NCRs
  • Complete assigned responsibilities in a manner that has significant impact on programs improving overall performance and capabilities
  • Ability to obtain a US LEVEL security clearance


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Structures, or Aerospace Engineering or related field and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Mechanical, Structures, or Aerospace Engineering or related field and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • High proficiency in utilization of ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $102,000 - $189,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
