Description

Position Summary

This role owns quality documentation review, quality systems administration, and quality compliance activities for MacAllister's data center backup power generation projects - ensuring all commissioning documentation meets customer quality standards before submission, quality requirements in documentation templates are current, field issue resolution records meet defined quality standards, and quality improvement initiatives are tracked to completion across all active project sites.

The Senior Specialist - EPG Quality serves as the quality governance between field teams completing on-site commissioning work and the project management team delivering customer-facing documentation. In partnership with Manager - Supplier Quality & Integration, this role establishes, maintains, and continuously refines quality standards, reviewing and approving completed commissioning checklists to ensure alignment with those standards within a one-business-day turnaround. The role also owns quality metrics tracking and reporting for customer compliance and to drive continuous improvement.

This is an individual contributor role within the Supplier Quality & Integration (SQI) team, reporting to the Manager - Supplier Quality & Integration. No direct reports.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Commissioning Documentation Quality Review
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to establish, maintain, and refine quality standards and acceptance criteria; review completed commissioning checklists for compliance with quality standards: required items completed, evidence meets acceptance criteria, and documentation is complete within established timeline
  • Approve or reject completed commissioning checklists based on established quality standards and acceptance criteria; provide field teams with specific, actionable feedback on identified deficiencies and opportunities for quality improvement when corrections are required.
  • Serve as final authority of checklists; release approved checklists to the project management team for upload to the customer's project management platform, enabling commissioning progress reporting and milestone invoicing.
  • Escalate to the Supplier Quality & Integration Manager when review volume threatens turnaround performance.

Quality Documentation System Administration
  • Own the quality content within the commissioning documentation platform (CxAlloy) - acceptance criteria, required verification items, evidence standards, and customer-required checklist items.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the commissioning documentation platform, leading system configuration, template governance, user administration, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with leadership to assess the impact of changing customer, regulatory, and business requirements; establish, refine, and implement updates to quality standards, verification criteria, processes, and supporting documentation to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with field execution leadership on documentation changes to ensure quality content updates do not disrupt on-site operational workflows.

Field Issue Resolution Quality Audit
  • Audit the quality of field issue (observation) closures completed by on-site commissioning managers on a continuous basis using the customer's construction management platform (Procore).
  • Review closure content against defined quality standards: response quality, supporting evidence, root cause identification, and corrective action adequacy.
  • Develop and maintain streamlined processes and tooling to enable efficient, scalable continuous auditing without manual bottlenecks, making recommendations to leaders on opportunities to gain efficiencies
  • Flag substandard closures to the Supplier Quality & Integration Manager for escalation and correction through field execution leadership.
  • Monitor observation closure quality metrics for customer reporting and compliance.

Quality Campaign Tracking & Administration
  • Administer quality improvement initiatives driven by supplier defects or customer requirements across multiple project sites.
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison among Supplier Quality Engineering, field operations, project management, and leadership to drive alignment, resolve escalations, and ensure successful campaign execution.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineers (supplier corrective action), field teams (on-site implementation), and project management (schedule impact) on campaign execution.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations to leadership

Quality Metrics & Compliance Reporting
  • Own tracking and reporting of quality governance metrics for customer compliance.
  • Monitor documentation review turnaround time against the approval standard; identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze first-pass approval rate as an indicator of field team documentation quality trends and field observation closing quality scores
  • Maintain quality campaign completion rates by site and by campaign, provide reports to management for further assessment, and make recommendations on further improvements
  • Track documentation template currency - alignment with current customer requirements.
  • Provide quality metrics to the Supplier Quality & Integration Manager for internal reviews and customer-facing compliance reporting.

Field Team Quality Training & Standards Communication
  • Deliver formal quality standards training to new field personnel during onboarding - covering documentation standards, evidence requirements, and what constitutes acceptable checklist completion.
  • Provide ongoing quality feedback through structured rejection communications - each rejection includes specific deficiencies, the applicable standard, and the expected correction.
  • Develop training content for Supplier Quality & Integration Manager approval.

Process Improvement & Scalability
  • Develop and improve quality governance processes, tools, and workflows to maintain turnaround performance as project volume grows.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline documentation review, observation auditing, and campaign tracking.
  • Contribute to the development of standard work and repeatable quality governance processes as the organization scales.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities
