Your role and responsibilities:
GRM is seeking a Senior Specialist to support Enterprise Risk Management activities for Nasdaq's North American Markets business, including US Equities, US Options, Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs), Nasdaq Canada, and the continued development of risk oversight for Digital Assets-related products and activities. This role will help execute ERM tools, practices, and reporting processes that identify, assess, monitor, and communicate key risks across market operations and related business activities. The successful candidate will bring strong risk management capabilities, practical knowledge of exchanges or similar market infrastructure businesses, familiarity with Digital Assets products, processes, and related risks, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think creatively and challenge conventional approaches to strengthen risk oversight. The role will report into the North American Markets risk function.
As a Senior Specialist, your responsibilities will include supporting
North American Markets from a risk perspective as well as advancing
Enterprise Risk Management function programs. Expectations are to:- Partner with North American Markets stakeholders to implement the ERM Framework and promote a practical, risk-aware culture across US Equities, US Options, ETPs, and Nasdaq Canada.
- Facilitate risk assessments and support risk and control owners in identifying, assessing, and monitoring key business, operational, technology, regulatory, and strategic risks.
- Support the buildout of the Digital Assets risk program by helping identify relevant risks and translating them into practical risk management activities.
- Conduct thoughtful root cause analysis on incidents, issues, and emerging risk themes to recommend pragmatic enhancements to controls, processes, and risk governance.
- Prepare clear, concise, and actionable risk reporting for management, risk committees, boards, and other governance forums.
- Aggregate and analyze ERM program data, key indicators, incidents, and risk trends to provide timely insights and support informed decision-making.
- Provide guidance and training to process and control owners on Nasdaq's Governance, Risk, and Compliance platform and broader ERM practices.
- Serve as a key user of the integrated GRC platform, helping ensure the system supports efficient, consistent, and meaningful risk management practices.
- Communicate effectively with global risk colleagues and business partners to align on risk priorities, share insights, and support consistent execution.
- Proactively engage Internal Audit, SOX, Compliance, Information Security, Business Continuity, Legal, and other assurance partners to support an integrated approach to risk management.
- Think creatively and challenge assumptions to identify emerging risks, develop practical solutions, and strengthen risk oversight for complex market environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, technology risk, audit, compliance, consulting, or a related discipline.
- Experience in regulated financial services, exchanges, trading venues, market infrastructure, or a similarly complex environment.
- Experience with Digital Assets products, processes, and risk considerations, with the ability to support the development of a risk program for emerging and evolving market activities.
- Strong understanding of North American Markets, including US Equities, US Options, ETPs, Nasdaq Canada, or comparable exchange-related businesses.
- Preferred certifications include PMP, CRISC, COSO ERM, RAI, or similar risk, project management, or governance credentials.
- Experience with a Big 4 firm or comparable professional services environment is a plus.

- Apply knowledge of Digital Assets products, operating processes, and associated risks to support effective risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and high attention to detail.
- Think creatively, challenge assumptions constructively, and develop practical solutions for complex or emerging risk issues.
- Communicate complex risk topics clearly and concisely through executive-ready written materials, presentations, and verbal briefings.
- Facilitate discussions and influence stakeholders across business units, control functions, technology, legal, compliance, audit, and regional teams.
- Work proactively and independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Use Governance, Risk, and Compliance platforms and Microsoft Office tools to structure clear reports, presentations, and risk materials.
- Ability and willingness to travel, as required.
