Job Title: Senior Solution Architect - Compute and Cloud USA

Working Pattern: Full-time

Senior Compute and Cloud Architect is an information technology (IT) expert responsible for the directions and creation of standard to Rolls-Royces traditional and cloud computing system for a multi-geo-enterprise in the RRNA space. This involves working on cloud service patterns, cloud application designs, cloud approval plans, and cloud systems required to manage cloud storage. They would work with the solution architects, business analysis, business owners, security members, and support members for compute and cloud environments. RRNA is in the process of gaining Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. Travel will be 20%

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
  • Interpret business requirements to enable and guide the design of integrated solutions meeting current and future roadmaps.
  • Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.
  • Develop and organize cloud systems for one (or more) geo-cloud instance(s).
  • Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy to meet required geo-cloud certification/regulatory.
  • Lead the design of architecture for integrated solutions in line with enterprise architectural standards, reference architectures and enterprise roadmaps across Data, Infrastructure, Process and Service, working as part of a global team guiding and coaching Solution SMEs, Business Analysts and Test Leads through solution development, delivery and support cycles.
  • Ensure applicable standards are adhered to in terms of design and documentation of the solutions.

Basic Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Cloud Computing, with 10+ years of cloud engineering experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Cloud Computing, with 8+ years of cloud engineering experience, OR
  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Cloud Computing, with 6+ years of cloud engineering experience, OR
  • PhD in degree degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Cloud Computing, with 3+ years of cloud engineering experience, OR
  • In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of experience in cloud computing
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen


Preferred Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more application development languages used in cloud application today (Java, .Net, Python, PHP...) which should include usage of DevOps/DevSecOps tools (GitHub, ADO...).
  • NIST/CMMC experience
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies and current computing trends across multiple offerings (AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, Oracle, ...).
  • TOGAF or similar qualification in IT Architecture.
  • Demonstrable technical leadership of complex technical and/or professional work activities, including the analysis of designs, delivery options and plans.
  • Experience with standards, methods, tools and applications relevant to own specialism and can make appropriate choices from alternatives.
