Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C codebases) and front-end (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS).

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

The Workspace Monetization Growth Team is responsible for the acquisition and onboarding of new users to Google Workspace products. We own the entire direct channel acquisition funnel, starting at Growth and Web Marketing as well as discovery points across Google apps, and continuing through signup, setup, and the user's free trial experience.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Core Acquisition and Onboarding engineering organization. In this role, you will be accountable for defining, building, and optimizing the core self-serve signup pipeline, cross-sell integrations, and early user onboarding journeys.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $262000 - $364000 (USD) 25% bonus target equity benefits

  • Lead, structure, and scale an engineering organization, including line managers and executive individual contributors across core sub-teams.
  • Coach and mentor technical leads and managers, drive high engineering standards, promote a team culture, and maintain strong team health and manager ratings.
  • Partner extensively with Product Management, UX, Data Science, Payments, Commerce, Trust and Safety and Marketing teams to land key initiatives.
  • Foster technical leadership in frontend and backend architecture, reusable component design, user targeting systems, and anti-abuse mechanisms.
  • Align organizational structures with shifting business goals, making clear trade-offs to resource high-priority initiatives while maintaining platform health.
