Full Job Description
Position Purpose:

The Home Depot has an immediate opening for a highly qualified technical leader of leaders for a role as Sr. Software Engineering Manager, Financial Reporting, leading the Financial Reporting Experience, Forecasting and Planning, and Record to Report teams. This position requires experience managing distributed teams, including offshore resources, as well as architecting, designing, developing, and supporting finance solutions across SAP S/4 and ECC, SAP BW4HANA, and Forecasting and Planning tools such as Clarity PPM and OneStream. The candidate should have a strong technical and functional background in the Finance domain with both implementations and operational support. This position is part of the remote IT Finance organization, with periodic travel to our Store Support Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and mentor three teams of managers, technical leads, and onshore and offshore associates, including hiring, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Own the architecture, design, development, and support of all team solutions, including supporting the ECC to S/4 Finance transformation, Store Onboarding and other key initiatives.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Deliver planning, budgeting, and forecasting solutions using OneStream, Clarity PPM, SAP BPC and Longview, integrated with other LOB applications such as SAP S/4, SAP ECC, Workday and Beeline.
  • Financial Reporting Experience: Deliver financial reporting and analytics using SAP Datasphere, SAP BW/4HANA, BW 7.5, Analysis for Office, Tableau and Google BigQuery.
  • Record to Report: Deliver general ledger, fixed asset, project settlement, intercompany, close, and consolidation solutions using SAP S/4, ECC, Group Reporting, and Blackline.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and technical teams to translate business goals into feasible solutions, supported by cost/benefit analysis.
  • Ensure the team understands business processes and enterprise strategies and proactively identifies process improvements and proofs of concept.
  • Establish consistent delivery practices across the teams, including SOX controls, change and release management, and production support.


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
  • Typically reports to the Technology Director, Sr. Director or Vice President.


Travel Requirements:
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


Physical Requirements:
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Mastery of an object oriented programming language (preferably Java)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 12 plus years of experience in IT analyst or consulting roles, including 5-7 years managing multiple distributed teams with offshore and third-party resources.
  • 7 plus years of hands-on SAP experience across S/4, ECC, and BW4HANA, including configuration, custom development, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO, Asset Accounting, and Project Systems in S/4HANA and ECC, including GL, AP/AR, cost and profit center accounting, depreciation, WBS settlement, and period-end close including Blackline (Account Reconciliations and IC Hub) integration.
  • Experience with SAP S/4 Group Reporting, including intercompany reconciliation, eliminations, and currency translation; SAP BPC experience a plus.
  • Experience with Blackline (Account Reconciliations, Task Management, Transaction Matching, Journal Entry, Intercompany Hub) integrated with SAP.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Clarity PPM (Project, Demand, Financials, Resource Management) using MUX, XOG, GEL scripts, workflows, REST API, and Studio.
  • Experience configuring and supporting planning and forecasting solutions such as OneStream, Longview or SAP BPC.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Google BigQuery development and management.
  • Proven ability to lead complex Financial implementations, with at least 4 full implementation cycles and experience facilitating design sessions; S/4 migration experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience delivering business cases, project plans, and staffing plans, with a solid understanding of SOX and financial controls.
  • Experience with formal testing tools (ALM a plus) and Windows Server with MS SQL Server desired.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about well-designed solutions that drive business success, with strong communication skills and a willingness to share knowledge.
  • Consumer retail experience preferred.
  • B.S. strongly preferred, M.S. preferred, in Computer Science or Information Systems.
