This is a full-time, onsite role at our Sunnyvale, CA office. This position is not eligible for remote work. As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by managing feature implementation, testing, and ongoing support. You will apply advanced programming skills and technical judgment to drive full lifecycle development, integrating AI/ML components to enhance platform capabilities. What you'll do: - Build internal tools that enhance development velocity, such as automated tools/frameworks, data generation or self-healing test scripts.
- Develop and execute sophisticated automation and evaluation strategies for mobile apps (iOS & Android) and AI Agents, ensuring reliability, reasoning accuracy, and safety in agentic workflows.
- Write clean, reliable code across multiple languages, integrating automated testing directly into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure rapid, high-quality delivery.
- Own the design and implementation of scalable automation frameworks, moving beyond simple scripting to build robust quality tools.
- Conduct deep-dive debugging and defect management, applying a strong understanding of software quality fundamentals to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Monitor application performance and support deployment practices, ensuring that automated suites provide fast, actionable feedback
What you'll bring: - Coding Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) (e.g., Java, C++) and scripting languages, with a strong emphasis on JavaScript/TypeScript.
- AI/ML Literacy: Experience in AI Agent development or evaluation, including familiarity with LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, or model benchmarking.
- Tooling Mindset: Proven ability to build "quality as a service" tools rather than just executing manual test cases.
- Modern DevOps: Experience with CI/CD tools and integrating automated quality gates into the development heart-beat.
- Problem Solving: A natural curiosity for breaking complex systems and a commitment to engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of software testing lifecycles, test pyramid principles, and the nuances of API vs. UI automation

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
