Full Job Description
Job Purpose

  • This position executes the design, development, and technical direction of custom software solutions that integrate engineering processes.
  • The role applies expertise to recommend software approaches, influence tool and architecture decisions, and deliver solutions that significantly improve the efficiency, quality, and capability of vehicle development and engineering workflows.


Key Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, verify, and maintain custom software used for engineering development processes.
  • Design and implement software integrations and data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain software development standards, verification methodologies, and technical documentation.
  • Lead root-cause analysis to investigate and resolve technical issues across engineering function groups.
  • Collaborate with regional and global engineering teams.
  • Plan and manage software development timelines.
  • Research emerging technologies/methodologies to implement effective solutions to business processes


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Minimum Educational Qualifications:
    • Must have a Bachelor's or equivalent academic degree / diploma in the field of Computer Science / Computer Engineering, Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Data Sciences / Applied Mathematics, Information Technology or a similar STEM field of study.
  • Minimum work experience:
    • At least 5 years of demonstrable relevant work experience in the industry.

Other job-specific skills:
  • Required:
    • C and C++ programming as a developer.
    • Python programming as a developer; Jupyter Lab.
    • Matlab and Simulink
    • Proficiency in use of office software, e.g - Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Highly desirables (as many):
    • Scientific or domain-specific software / instrument use experience, e.g. - CANalyzer, Ansys, SimCenter, Scilab.
    • Programming APIs for various software applications
    • Agile workflow / SDLC
    • Advanced software validation.
  • Other desirables (any):
    • Rust, ReactJS, MQTT, good understanding of IT Networks


Workstyle

  • This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
