Full Job Description
Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Location: 10770 NE 8th St., Suite 700, Bellevue, WA 98004 *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in Bellevue, WA. Job Duties:Architect, design, develop, and optimize deployment automation tools and frameworks to enable fast, reliable, and scalable delivery of microservices on Kubernetes. Develop and maintain sophisticated internal tools including CLIs, dashboards, and automation bots that streamline deployment workflows and enhance developer productivity. Lead collaboration with engineering teams to design user-friendly, scalable deployment strategies and simplify complex Kubernetes deployment processes. Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and health-check systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and related technologies to ensure deployment system reliability and performance. Drive improvements in onboarding and deployment processes, ensuring consistency, security, and ease of use across teams. Produce high-quality technical documentation and lead knowledge-sharing sessions and training workshops to elevate team proficiency in deployment tools and best practices. Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure, Security, and Kubernetes platform teams to continuously evolve deployment tooling and enhance overall developer experience. Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies and frameworks to innovate deployment automation and developer tooling capabilities. Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers, offering guidance on architecture, code quality, and performance; conduct regular feedback and career development reviews. Salary: $212,202 - $274,700 / year Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: design patterns and software architecture design patterns; and one or more of: C#, Java, C, C++, SQL. Must have three (3) years of experience with Cloud Computing/Virtualisation environments including Docker. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Kubernetes; and CI/CD.
