This is a onsite position located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for providing high quality solutions to internal and external customers.

  • The Software Engineer will typically be involved in the following development categories: Scope Planning, Architecture and Design, System and Software Requirements, Implementation and Unit Testing, Integration and Testing/Verification and Certification

  • Will master the technical aspects of the Onboard Maintenance System and is actively involved in the development aspects. This includes the OMS system software and configuration as well as the development of tools and processes.

  • Builds, delivers and integrates the OMS software and configuration on test fixtures and rigs for various aircraft types and performs various analyses such as footprint testing.

  • Supports the successful execution of projects throughout the development life cycle (planning, development and certification).

  • Coordinates and communicates with direct team members, technical project managers, systems engineers and product managers.

  • Understands the certification aspects of the Onboard Maintenance System in order to successfully certify the product.

  • Understands and follows processes, is always learning and continuously looks for improvements.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • Experience in software development with C and SQL programming language is required.

  • Experience with networking technologies (i.e., Ethernet, TCP/IP, Wireshark) is required.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
