Forward Deployed Engineer - Gen AI Developer (Corporate Functions Legal)

About the Role

JLL seeks a Senior AI Engineer specializing in Gen AI tools and intelligent agent development to automate and enhance the Corporate Functions Legal function. You will architect, build, and maintain advanced AI solutions, collaborating with legal stakeholders, data scientists, and IT teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. We expect a self-starter with proven technical depth, strong data science foundation, and leadership ability, ready to contribute immediately and help shape the legal technology landscape at JLL.
  • Partner with Corporate Functions Legal stakeholders and JLL Technologies teams to analyze legal processes and identify automation opportunities using generative AI.
  • Architect, develop, and deploy Gen AI models and intelligent agents for legal workflow automation, contract review and analysis, legal risk assessment, matter management, report generation, and other critical legal functions.
  • Implement solutions that ensure the security, integrity, and scalability of legal data and processes.
  • Create and maintain legal dashboards and AI-driven reporting tools to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Integrate Gen AI solutions with enterprise platforms and third-party applications such as contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, matter management platforms, document management systems, and data lakes via RESTful APIs or other integration methods.
  • Solve complex problems in an agile environment and provide technical leadership to other engineers.
  • Apply data science methodologies including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning to legal data for insights and automation.
  • Monitor performance, usage, and compliance of all Gen AI legal automation tools, ensuring robust change management and auditability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging Gen AI technologies and ensure JLL's Legal solutions remain at the forefront of industry standards.

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in machine learning, AI engineering, or data science, with at least 3 years in Gen AI model development and solution deployment.
  • Full stack development experience, including frontend and backend technologies as well as integration across multiple layers of web applications.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation to support development and deployment of AI solutions.
  • Cloud experience with platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in deploying and managing AI/ML workloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and manage global stakeholders across multiple initiatives.
  • Previous experience automating processes in legal, risk, or compliance functions is highly desirable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
Mandatory Skills & Competencies
  • Deep understanding of Gen AI frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, HuggingFace Transformers).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with modern ML/AI libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, etc.).
  • Experience in developing, fine-tuning, and deploying LLMs or similar Gen AI models.
  • Proven track record of workflow automation and process mining using AI.
  • Proficiency in integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems via RESTful APIs, webhooks, or event-driven architectures.
  • Good understanding of security, compliance, and data governance best practices in AI solution development.
  • Proficiency in data science tools and libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, SciPy) and experience with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly).
  • Experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore for building, managing, and deploying intelligent agents.
