This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsibilities

The Workforce Management Solutions Team powers our HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Timekeeping professionals and empowers our 90,000 plus employees by deploying and supporting a variety of global employee systems and solutions running on SaaS platforms such as Dayforce and Workday.

As an Senior Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing a wide range of technology solutions that support our organization's strategic vision. In this position, you will leverage advanced engineering methodologies, analytical skills, and research techniques to drive innovation and deliver high-quality technology outcomes. As a subject matter expert across multiple technology domains, you will provide actionable recommendations for new solutions and serve as a trusted technical resource for both your team and stakeholders across the organization. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to design and optimize systems, identifying opportunities to improve integration and overall solution quality, and monitoring key performance metrics to ensure adherence to established standards, processes, and best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high-quality solutions that align with customer expectations
  • Responsible for designing, modifying, and developing complex code independently, within or outside various teams using applicable technology
  • Responsible for driving standards, ensuring code performance, contributing to code reviews, and performing unit and integration testing
  • Assist with the analysis and review of software requirements and testing of code
  • Use your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in their focus area and represent their department on complex assignments
  • Assess elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation
  • Make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness

Qualifications

Required:
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • 3+ years of Java related development experience
  • 2+ years of experience creating and implementing SQL
  • Experience related to API, including microservices, event driven architecture, REST principles
  • Knowledge of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and/or similar tool
  • Experience with source control management (Bitbucket/GIT experience preferred)

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts
  • Experience with middleware technologies like WebLogic and Tomcat
  • Experience with Jenkins
  • Experience with React JS
  • Experience with Cloud Solutions
  • Experience with technologies XSLT and Xpath
  • Experience with Workday
