Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX) and ANSI X12 EDI transactions to design, develop, and support enterprise integration solutions within the transportation and logistics domain. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building scalable EDI solutions, translating business requirements into robust ITX maps, and supporting mission-critical B2B integrations with carriers, shippers, customers, and third-party logistics providers.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain IBM ITX maps and enterprise integration solutions.
• Analyze business and EDI requirements and translate them into technical designs and ITX mapping specifications.
• Develop and maintain ANSI X12 transaction maps supporting transportation and logistics workflows.
• Support EDI transactions including 204 Motor Carrier Load Tender, 210 Motor Carrier Freight Details and Invoice, 214 Transportation Carrier Shipment Status Message, 990 Response to Load Tender, 997/999 Functional Acknowledgments, and 820 Payment Order/Remittance Advice.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing IBM ITX maps and integration processes.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, EDI Analysts, Solution Architects, engineering teams, and trading partners to implement new integrations.
• Perform impact analysis for new customer onboarding, trading partner changes, and regulatory updates.
• Support production environments by diagnosing mapping failures, data validation issues, and transaction processing errors.
• Develop reusable mapping components and establish IBM ITX development best practices.
• Integrate EDI solutions using communication protocols and technologies such as AS2, SFTP, FTP, MQ, and REST APIs.
• Perform EDI validation and support acknowledgments, envelopes, and partner-specific implementation requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Develop unit tests and support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production deployments.
• Create and maintain technical designs, mapping logic, and operational documentation.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on IBM ITX and EDI best practices.
• Ensure integration solutions meet performance, scalability, security, reliability, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise integration solutions.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX).
• Strong experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing IBM ITX maps.
• Deep understanding of ANSI X12 EDI standards.
• Experience with transportation and logistics EDI transactions, including 204, 210, 214, 990, 997/999, and 820.
• Strong understanding of EDI validation, functional acknowledgments, and ANSI X12 envelopes including ISA, GS, and ST.
• Experience working with partner-specific EDI implementation guides.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems using AS2, SFTP, FTP, MQ, REST APIs, or other B2B communication protocols.
• Strong experience troubleshooting production EDI issues, mapping failures, and transaction-processing errors.
• Experience with XML, JSON, CSV, and flat-file transformations.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with the 856 Advance Ship Notice transaction.
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Java, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
