JOB SUMMARY
This job is an integral member of an agile software engineer team responsible for building scalable software applications across all digital channels to serve our customers. The incumbent will be responsible for taking an enterprise-wide, architectural view of the solutions and the technical execution of products using the technical stack that best meets the needs of the platform. The position, and team, will be involved in every aspect as part of the software application build process from idea generation, business analysis, technical design and software development using the latest technologies and design patterns.

Proven expertise in full-stack development: Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain robust applications using React for the frontend and Python with PostgreSQL/BigQuery for the backend, including experience with GraphQL, REST APIs and database views.
Strong proficiency in asynchronous processing and messaging: Hands-on experience with Celery and GCP Pub/Sub for building scalable and reliable distributed systems.
Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD and deployment strategies: Experience with GitLab CI/CD for automating deployments across on-premise, OpenShift, and GCP cloud environments, coupled with a solid grasp of role-based security and access control implementation.
Senior-level contributions to software architecture and development lifecycle: A track record of leading design discussions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring code quality, security best practices, and performance optimization within an agile development framework.

Pay Range Minimum:
$102,700.00Pay Range Maximum:
$164,600.00Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
