AI-assisted engineering is a normal part of this role. The engineer is expected to use AI-assisted development tools throughout discovery, planning, implementation, debugging, testing, review, documentation, and production support while remaining accountable for the quality and impact of the work.

This role has a flexible work arrangement, meaning we are open to employees working remotely or in-office. Periodic travel to the Atlanta, IN office is expected.

As a member of the Beck's Family of employees, all full-time employees are eligible for a generous benefits package:
  • Health benefits including two medical plan options and company HSA contributions, dental, vision, employer paid life/AD&D for you and your dependents, disability insurance, and access to an onsite Nurse Practitioner
  • 401k plan match & company sponsored pension plan and access to a Financial Advisor to help you manage your retirement savings
  • Paid time off, Paid Holidays, Wellness Programs, & Corporate Discounts
  • Company Christmas Party, Free Lunch, Two Hundred Dollar Merchandise Allowance, & Much More

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, data-processing workflows, and database-backed features.
  • Develop and support geospatial data-processing workflows and integrations with third-party systems.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery, improve engineering quality, explore implementation options, and strengthen technical decision-making.
  • Use AI to improve tests, identify edge cases, analyze failures, and strengthen regression coverage.
  • Use AI-assisted review techniques to pre-check changes for bugs, missing tests, readability issues, and regression risk before opening or reviewing pull requests.
  • Support targeted frontend changes when needed to complete or unblock backend-driven work.
  • Diagnose production issues using logs, monitoring tools, database evidence, and application behavior.
  • Ship focused fixes and hotfixes while preserving system stability and existing contracts.
  • Collaborate with QA, Design, Technology Business Partners, product stakeholders, and engineers across scrum teams.
  • Review pull requests and provide practical peer feedback on correctness, maintainability, testing, and clarity.
  • Contribute implementation input during technical design discussions.
  • Improve reliability, performance, test coverage, CI/CD workflows, and developer experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, troubleshooting notes, and handoff material.
  • Balance planned delivery with production support, release validation, and defect resolution.
