The ProblemAs Flock expands its video capabilities, delivering custom video management software with extremely low latency is critical to giving customers real-time situational awareness. Building interactive live video streams and intuitive web interfaces allows agencies and security teams to respond swiftly when timing matters. You will lead frontend architecture, build responsive web applications, and engineer high-definition live video interfaces on our Cloud Video team.
What You'll Own- Architect and execute frontend web applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js for Flock's custom Video Management Software.
- Build low-latency, interactive live video playback features and real-time alert dashboards across client platforms.
- Implement performant UI optimizations to ensure smooth, responsive user experiences across diverse devices and browsers.
- Design and integrate clean APIs connecting web clients to cloud video microservices and storage platforms.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend engineering teams to deliver user-centric video capabilities.
What This Role is Not- This isn't a backend-only or infrastructure engineering role, you will maintain fullstack context but your primary focus is frontend web execution.
- This is not a role requiring prior specialized video domain expertise, we will teach you the video domain as long as you possess deep frontend application capability.
- This isn't a static UI design job, you will write production-grade web code, optimize streaming performance, and ship features into high-traffic live environments.
What You Bring- Demonstrated frontend development experience with deep mastery of React, TypeScript, and Node.js web services.
- Capability to diagnose and implement UI performance optimizations across data-heavy, real-time web applications.
- Practical understanding of web API design and client-server communication.
- Working familiarity with cloud tooling and containerized services using AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Resourceful problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous learning in fast-paced software environments.
