Senior Software Engineer, Fintech - Auto Finance Platform We're a growth-stage fintech rebuilding the auto lending stack on a clean, modern codebase. Small team, large surface area, production deploys every week, and real architectural ownership from day one.
Key Responsibilities As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a core contributor to our flagship auto finance platform. Your responsibilities will include:
- Design and Development: Architect, build, and operate the backend services and APIs that power loan origination, decisioning, and servicing.
- API Integration: Lead integrations with credit bureaus, fraud providers, payment processors, and dealer systems, including contract design, retry/idempotency strategy and operational runbooks.
- Feature Ownership: Own features end-to-end, partnering directly with Product and Design from problem framing through production rollout.
- Code Quality: Set the patterns for testing, observability, security, and CI/CD that the rest of the team adopts.
- Mentorship: Run design reviews, give technical guidance, and help interview and onboard the engineers who join after you. Playing a core role in establishing and scaling a high-performance engineering team and culture.
Minimum Qualifications - US Citizenship: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Domain-Adjacent Experience: A track record of building and operating mission-critical integrations with external partners in a regulated industry (finance, payments, insurance, healthcare, or similar).
- Technical Depth: Expert level in TypeScript/Node.js or C#/.NET, with production experience in a structured backend framework and a modern React framework. Comfortable picking up the second stack.
- Cloud & Architecture: Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS preferred), RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in a Turborepo or Nx monorepo environment with Yarn Workspaces.
- Prior experience working in a start-up environment.
- Active contributor to open-source projects or communities.
- Familiarity with data encryption, field-level security, and syncing data to external systems (e.g., MSSQL-based operational data stores).
- Experience with AWS Cognito, SAML/SSO authentication, or similar identity platforms.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and modern database tooling such as Prisma ORM or similar type-safe query builders.
- Auto finance, lending, or other regulated-industry domain experience.
- Comfortable working across multiple language ecosystems (TypeScript and .NET).
- Multi-tenant PostgreSQL with row-level security, IAM auth, or similar isolation patterns.
- Serverless on AWS (Lambda + API Gateway) and Terraform-managed infrastructure.
Location & Work Schedule - Location: This role offers a hybrid work scheduleand is preferred for candidates based in or willing to commute to our offices in Tempe, AZ, or Coppell, TX.
