We are looking for an experienced AI Specialist / Bots Engineer to help define, build, and maintain scalable AI systems for a live-service multiplayer game.
This role will focus on developing reliable, performant, and highly tunable bot technology that can support a wide range of gameplay experiences and long-term product needs.
In this role:
- Partner closely with Design, Production, and Gameplay Engineering to understand gameplay goals and translate them into robust AI solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain bot systems that are reliable, performant, scalable, and easy to tune.
- Build flexible, data-driven AI systems and workflows that allow designers to iterate quickly on bot behavior.
- Contribute to the architecture of shared AI technology that can support multiple gameplay scenarios and future feature development.
- Investigate and resolve AI-related bugs, performance issues, and edge cases in a large, complex codebase.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure AI systems meet stability, performance, networking, and live-service quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise in bot behavior, AI architecture, debugging, and optimization.
Pay Transparency - North AmericaCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$169,500 - $242,600 CAD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
