About the Senior Software Engineer Position

The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, modernizes, and supports enterprise applications that are critical to Colonial Pipeline business operations. This position combines hands-on software engineering with long-term ownership of production systems, including new feature development, cloud modernization, operational support, and continuous improvement. You will help shape future-state architecture while ensuring the reliability, performance, and supportability of business-critical applications.

What You Get to Do
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Angular, .NET, and C#.
• Build and enhance Angular- and Blazor-based user interface components for enterprise applications.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Azure services, including App Services, Microsoft Entra ID, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Help modernize legacy applications using cloud-native and other modern architecture patterns.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that follows software engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with strong ownership and follow-through.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to overall engineering quality.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, quality assurance professionals, and other engineers to deliver effective solutions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software development lifecycle practices.
• Provide production support, including participation in on-call rotations, incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.

What You Bring to the Table
• Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science.
• 7-9 years of professional software development experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise software applications.
• 4-6 years of demonstrated expertise in Angular or modern front-end development and C#/.NET development.
• 7-9 years of experience developing REST APIs, integrating front-end and back-end components, working with relational databases, and supporting business-critical production systems.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, code quality, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and engineering productivity.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and participating in operational support or on-call activities.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds from floor to waist.
