Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Specialist with extensive experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise Java/J2EE applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern Java development, enterprise application architecture, web technologies, integration, and application modernization. This role will participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and other technology partners to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality solutions.

The successful candidate will also contribute to application modernization, product redesign, automated testing, and containerized deployment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain scalable and stable Java/J2EE enterprise applications.
• Develop both custom-built and commercial/off-the-shelf application solutions using Java and enterprise web technologies.
• Participate in the full application development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, data modeling, coding, integration, implementation, testing, and production support.
• Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Design and develop new applications, features, and enhancements to existing enterprise applications.
• Contribute to product development initiatives, including significant application redesign, modernization, and performance improvements.
• Develop and implement effective application versioning, release, and deployment strategies.
• Design and develop application integrations using RESTful and SOAP-based web services and other enterprise integration technologies.
• Develop automated testing frameworks and reusable functional test libraries to improve application quality and delivery efficiency.
• Support containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, orchestration, scaling, and management.
• Troubleshoot complex application, integration, database, and deployment issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish development standards, resolve technical challenges, and deliver solutions on schedule.
• Lead or participate in technical meetings, design sessions, code reviews, and implementation activities.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in application development, including the design and development of Java/J2EE enterprise applications and web technologies.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with core Java/J2EE technologies, including:

• 5+ years of experience with XML and related web/integration technologies, including:

• 3+ years of experience developing automated testing frameworks and reusable functional test libraries.
• 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, including orchestration, deployment, scaling, and management of Docker containers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the healthcare industry, particularly health plan implementation and healthcare payer environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, development methodologies, and SDLC practices.
• Experience modernizing legacy Java applications and transitioning enterprise applications to newer frameworks and deployment platforms.
• Strong understanding of application integration and enterprise web services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to understand business needs, address customer concerns, and translate requirements into practical technology solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable leading technical discussions, working sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
• Strong work ethic and a collaborative, results-oriented approach.

Pay Transparency

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $75,168-$130,500. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
